About the course
Charters Towers Golf Club is at 20 Dalrymple Road in Toll, Charters Towers, about an hour and a half west of Townsville. Gold was found at Charters Towers in 1871 and the town grew into the second largest in Queensland during the rush, leaving the heritage streets that draw most visitors today.
The Charters Towers Regional Council community directory describes the course as nine holes with 18 tees, so an 18-hole round goes around the nine twice from different tee positions. The club has a clubhouse and golf buggies, runs a range of regular competitions, and welcomes visitors and new members at any time.
The club also hosts junior golf: the council's 2026 Australia Day awards name Charters Towers among the North Queensland junior tournaments won by a local junior golfer over the previous year.
