About the course

Duaringa Golf Club is a nine-hole course in Duaringa, a small town on the Capricorn Highway that dates from the 1870s and serves as a gateway to the Central Queensland Highlands. The club is run entirely by volunteers.

The course has alternate tee boxes, and its fairways are lined with ironbark. Kangaroos often rest in the shade through the middle of the day. The club does not publish a par or hole lengths.

The course is open all year. Green fees are $10 for nine holes, paid into the honesty box on the 1st tee, with scorecards kept underneath it. Because the clubhouse is not always staffed, anyone wanting it opened for a group or event should email the club ahead of time.

Club competitions tee off at 8.30am on the first and third Sundays of each month, with nine holes on the first Sunday and 18 holes, usually the monthly medal, on the third. The yearly calendar also takes in separate men's and ladies' opens in August, sponsored by Jellinbah Mine, along with closed championships and a junior open.
