About the course

Mareeba Golf Club is on Hampe Street in Mareeba, in the northern part of the Tablelands, about an hour's drive from Cairns over the Kuranda Range and about an hour from Port Douglas. The club dates its founding to the early 1930s.

The course has 18 holes and plays to par 72, with raised greens. Wildlife is part of a round here: the club counts more than 300 kangaroos living on the course, along with frill-necked lizards and a range of birds. The two-storey clubhouse has a deck that looks over the 1st, 9th, 10th and 18th fairways.

Golfers of all standards are welcome, and tee times can be booked online through the club's booking page or by calling (07) 4092 1528. Visitors can also enter the weekly competitions:

Wednesday: Wednesday Whackers from 4pm.
Thursday: Sporters from 4pm.
Saturday and Sunday: club competitions.

Twilight golf after 4pm gives unlimited holes. From 1 July 2026, members of Golf Australia affiliated clubs between Cardwell and Weipa pay no green fee when playing 18-hole competitions (SGA and similar events excluded). The online booking page lists $25 for 18 holes on weekdays; confirm weekend, nine-hole and twilight prices when booking. Golf clubs and buggies can be hired, and electric carts are available. The clubhouse is fully licensed, open from 8am to 5pm every day, and can be booked for corporate and private functions.
