About the course

Mawson Lakes Golf Club runs a nine-hole course beside Main North Road at Mawson Lakes, about 12 kilometres from the Adelaide CBD. The club was founded in 1979 as The Palms and is run with the help of volunteers and sponsors, promoting itself as a country-style course in the city.

The course mixes par 3s, 4s and 5s, with a variety of tee positions.

Public green fee players are welcome outside the member competitions on Tuesdays from 7am to 2pm and Saturdays from 7am to 3pm. Green fees are $25 for nine holes and $36 for 18, with juniors under 15 playing with an adult for $15 and $22. Non-members can join the twilight competition for $18, which runs on Wednesday afternoons from October to March. Tee times open seven days ahead and can be booked online, and all players register in the clubrooms on arrival. Electric carts cost $25 for nine holes and $40 for 18 and need a driver's licence; clubs and push buggies can be hired. Groups of eight or more get special rates, and corporate days can be arranged.

The dress code asks for neat clothing and rules out thongs, bare feet, work boots, singlets, football shorts and jumpers, and tracksuit pants. The clubhouse has refreshments and a small pro shop selling balls, tees, clothing and bags, and coaching is available for beginners, juniors and groups. The course is open daily from 7am to 5pm, closing at 5.30pm in summer.
