About the course
North Adelaide Golf Course is a public facility in the Adelaide Park Lands, a short walk from the CBD along the River Torrens. The State Government is redeveloping the former South Course as an 18-hole championship public course, with an executive course, driving range and practice facilities planned. The South Course is closed during the works, while the North Course and the Par 3 Course stay open seven days a week, closing only on Christmas Day.
The North Course has 13 holes and a par of 44: eight par 3s and five par 4s, the longest of them the 342-metre 6th. It is tree-lined, with kikuyu fairways, Santa Ana couch tees and greens, and low rough that keeps rounds moving. The Par 3 Course sits below War Memorial Drive beside the river, with holes from 56 to 140 metres, synthetic tee mats, kikuyu fairways and couch greens.
Green fees on the North Course are $30 Monday to Thursday and $35 Friday to Sunday and public holidays, $2 less when booked online. The Par 3 Course costs $19 Monday to Thursday and $21 Friday to Sunday, with junior and family passes. Bookings open 16 days ahead online, and groups of 12 or more contact the course. Hire clubs, trolleys and carts are available. Golfers with a GOLF Link handicap can enter competitions. The dress code is neat and tidy with closed-toe shoes; singlets and thongs are not allowed.
Check-in for the North Course is a temporary booth next to North Adelaide railway station with a small pro shop, coffee and food, until permanent facilities are built. The licensed Par 3 Cafe overlooks the river and serves coffee, light lunches, meals, beer and wine, and drinks can be taken onto the Par 3 Course.
