About the course

Glen Innes Golf Club is on Hutchison Road, Glen Innes, in the New England High Country, and is a division of Glen Innes Services Club. The club dates from the start of the 20th century and has had three clubhouses; the current brick building replaced a timber one lost to fire. The course sits 1,062 metres above sea level, and the club notes that golf is comfortable for most of the year and brisk in winter.

The 18-hole course is par 71 from both the men's white and women's red tees, at 5,752 metres and 5,155 metres. It has five par 3s, nine par 4s and four par 5s. Mature trees line the fairways, so straight driving pays, and resident wallabies are often out for early rounds. - 3rd: the longest hole, a 546-metre par 5. - 10th: stroke index 1, a 394-metre par 4. - 7th: the shortest hole, a 125-metre par 3.

Visitors are welcome seven days a week, from 8am to 4pm, and the club is closed on Christmas Day. Non-members pay $25 for 18 holes and $18 for nine, and junior non-members under 18 pay $13 for nine. Holders of an Australian GolfLink number and international visitors are charged reciprocal green fees. Carts cost non-members $40 for 18 holes and $20 for nine. Competitions are held on Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, with veterans on Thursday (10am shotgun start) and a nine-hole competition on Friday.

Private and group lessons are available, and the club has a fully stocked pro shop. The clubhouse has a bar, a members' lounge and a function room for up to 250 people, and a courtesy bus can be arranged for larger groups.
