Theodore Golf Club is on Woolthorpe Road at Theodore in Central Queensland; the club's event pages give the course address as Lonesome Creek QLD 4719. The 18-hole course has grass greens. The club plays every Saturday, and visitors are invited to come along for a game.
The club's calendar is built around an October golf weekend. The Theodore Cup, played on the Saturday, is an 18-hole single stroke net event. On the Sunday the Evolution Mining Amateur Ambrose is a four-person team event over 18 holes, limited to 20 teams, with prizes including a hole-in-one prize, pin shot prizes and longest drive prizes in all grades. Under the event rules each player's tee shot must be used at least three times, and team handicaps are worked out from each player's Golf Australia handicap. In past years the Hotel Theodore has offered a discount for golfers staying two nights or more, with a free bus to and from the course on both days. The October 2026 weekend went ahead with the support of local sponsors.
