About the course

Coffin Bay Golf Club is part of the Coffin Bay Sporting Club on Giles Road, Coffin Bay, at the foot of the sandhills on the edge of Coffin Bay National Park and a short drive uphill from the Discovery Caravan Park. The sporting club, run by the Coffin Bay Sporting Association, also has a synthetic bowling green, pool tables and clubrooms looking out over the area.

The course has nine holes, with alternate tee blocks that make an 18-hole round of 5,422 metres and par 72. Tree-lined kikuyu fairways follow the line of the sandhills. Blue posts mark 150 metres and white posts 100 metres. The car park, bowling green, clubhouse veranda and the concrete paths around the clubhouse are out of bounds, as is the area right of the fence on the 2nd, 7th and 13th. A shot that hits the power lines on the 4th or 13th is replayed, and preferred lies apply on the fairways.

Visitors are welcome to play socially or in competitions. The green fee is $25 for adults and $10 for juniors, paid by cash or card through the Vendi tap-and-go machine. Clubs hire for $20, buggies for $5 and motorised carts for $50, and a driver's licence is needed for a cart.

Competitions start at 12.30pm, with names in by midday: - Tuesday: women - Thursday: men - Sunday: mixed

The women's winter season runs from April to October, and summer times may change in hot weather. Meals in the clubrooms are by Bellyfull Catering, with bookings recommended, and the bar opens from 4pm on Sundays for a session open to all.
