About the course

Riverton Golf Club is on the Barrier Highway at Riverton, in the Gilbert Valley of South Australia's Mid North. The club notes that the Clare Valley, the old mining town of Burra and the Barossa Valley are each about 40 minutes' drive away, and the Riverton Caravan Park is about a minute's walk from the course, close enough for a quick nine holes.

The course is a heavily wooded nine-hole layout. It is short compared with many courses, but its sloping fairways and undulating hills can make it a testing round.

Golfers of all levels are welcome, from beginners to experienced players. The main competition season runs through the cooler months: in 2025 it opened on Saturday 3 May with a mixed ambrose and closed on Saturday 27 September with an ambrose and a presentation dinner. The club's 2025 programs set out the weekly competitions: - Men's competitions on Saturdays, alternating stableford and stroke rounds, with the club championships, Captain's and President's trophies and handicap matchplay played through the season. - Women's competitions on Tuesdays, with a 1pm hit off (arrive by 12.30pm) and a $2 entry fee.

Membership options include full, junior, beginner, social and summer memberships, the summer category covering October to April. Competition results are posted on the club's website.
