About the course
Sandstone's golf course is a community course in the Murchison town of Sandstone, close to the Recreation Centre and bowling green on Rowe Street. It is a bush course on the area's red and black dirt, and the Shire's newsletter notes that plenty of wildflowers grow on it in season, so it is also worth a stroll for visitors who are not playing.
The course is used regularly by locals and is described by the Shire as an active club, so drivers are asked to keep vehicles off it. Visitors are welcome to play a round. Golf clubs can be hired from the Heritage Museum and Visitor Information Centre in Hack Street, on 08 9963 5061 between April and September, or through the Shire office on 08 9963 5802 at other times. The number of holes, par and any green fee are not published online.
The Recreation Centre beside the course can be hired for social and sporting functions through the Shire, and lawn bowls can be borrowed from the Visitor Centre as well.
