About the course

Moree Golf Club opened for play on 8 August 1906 and sits on both banks of the Mehi River, on Greenbah Road. The course was designed by Arthur East.

The 18-hole course is par 72 and about 6,107 metres, with four par 3s, ten par 4s and four par 5s. Greens are 328 couch and fairways are kikuyu. The club's hole-by-hole page has an aerial flyover of every hole. - 1st: an unusual opener, a 174-metre par 3. - 9th: the longest hole, a 506-metre par 5. - 13th: the longest par 3, at 180 metres. - 18th: a 440-metre par 5 to finish.

Visitors pay $45 for 18 holes on any day and $27.50 for nine on weekdays, and juniors under 16 pay $7. Visitor cart hire is $55 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, a set of hire clubs is $30 for 18 holes or $20 for nine, and pull buggies are $5. There is no online booking for visitors: phone the golf shop on 02 6752 1480 to check availability, especially for social golf. Monday is a social day, Tuesday has a nine-hole pro shop competition, Thursday is for veterans, women and juniors until 2pm, and Friday has a nine-hole twilight Ambrose that can be played at any time. Weekends follow the club's events calendar.

The practice facilities include a practice fairway and large chipping and putting greens. The pro shop stocks merchandise, and professional Darren Burger gives lessons, with 30 minutes at $50. The Ma Ma Chim restaurant in the clubhouse serves Thai and Australian meals, with lunch from Wednesday to Sunday and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, and there is a verandah and a sports bar.
