About the course
Augathella Golf Club is on Bendee Street in Augathella, a small south-west Queensland town that owes its start to the bullock teams that camped along the Warrego River. Known locally as Meat Ant Country, it was also home ground to the Kenniff brothers, the notorious bushrangers, and holds a busy annual Easter weekend.
The course has natural fairways and traditional sand greens set in red-earth country, where kangaroos on the fairways and wedge-tailed eagles overhead are part of the setting. In 2025 the club hosted an Outback Queensland Masters event, part of the amateur golf series played across remote outback towns.
The club runs regular competitions and social events, and visitors are welcome to take part. After a round the clubhouse has a bar with food and refreshments. Green fees and playing days are not published, so contact the club on (07) 4654 9130 or through its Facebook page before visiting to check when golf is on.
