About the course

Burra Golf Club is an 18-hole country course on the northern outskirts of Burra, the historic mining town in the Goyder region of South Australia's Mid North. The course sits beside the Barrier Highway, 164 kilometres north of Adelaide or about two hours by car. The club's honour boards list presidents and captains from 1947, its clubhouse was opened in September 1975, and in 1997 the men's club and the associates merged to form a single Burra Golf Club.

The greens and fairways are watered, and a round is played among established native trees. The course plays to par 72 for both men and women.

Visitors and new members are welcome. Green fees are paid by card at a terminal in the clubhouse. Carts can be hired and should be booked ahead through the club so one is ready, and golf clubs can be hired from the BP service station on the corner of Kingston and Thames Streets in Burra. The club website lists these competition times: - Saturday: men's competition, 12pm for 12.30pm. - Tuesday: men's competition, 10am for 10.30am (9am for 9.30am during daylight saving), and women's competition, 9am for 9.15am (7.45am for 8am during daylight saving). - Thursday: nine-hole social competition, teeing off between 9am and 9.30am.

Since early 2025 the club has posted its news on Facebook, so confirm times there or on the clubhouse number, 08 8892 2066.

Burra is one of Clare Golf Club's reciprocal clubs, and Clare gives members of its reciprocal clubs half off its green fees.
