About the course
Port Pirie Golf Club is at the corner of Kingston Road and Senate Road in Risdon Park South, Port Pirie. The course occupies council community land leased to the club, and part of the lease site carries a communications tower; in September 2026 Port Pirie Regional Council consulted on renewing the tower lease for 20 years from January 2028, with all the rent going to the golf club.
In September 2020 the club and the council agreed a partnership to grass at least nine fairways. Council put in $20,000, in recognition of the impact of COVID-19, and offered access to a loan if needed, and watering work was due to begin that October. The president at the time said the aim was to be able to play on grass through the summer months. Before the deal, volunteers had repainted the bar and hall, laid new carpet tiles, rewired a new buggy shed, resurfaced the car park and entrance and built a cart storage shed.
The clubhouse appears in the council's dining guide as a counter-meal venue, and the premises can be hired for functions. Green fees, holes and competition days are not published online, so contact the club on 08 8633 1066 or pirigolf@tpg.com.au before visiting.
