About the course
Devilbend Golf Club is at 48 Loders Road, Moorooduc, in rolling country on the Mornington Peninsula. The club was formed at public meetings in Hastings in 1973, and its course was designed by Greenmasters, the firm of Eric Horne, Horrie Brown and Len Boorer, on 141 acres with a large dam and several smaller ones. Nine holes opened first, and the course was officially opened on 20 December 1975, growing to 18 holes within a year. In 2025 it was named Victoria's most outstanding club, facility and place to play in the metropolitan region.
The course is par 71 and 5,908 metres, with hills, dams, bunkers and undulating fairways. The 1st is a 485-metre par 5 that doglegs gently right, with the fairway sloping left to right and water on the right for the second shot. The 9th green was rebuilt in late 2025.
Visitors register as public players online before booking, and prepayment is required for all bookings. Midweek fees are $60 for 18 holes online ($65 by phone) and $40 for nine; Saturday is $80 online and Sunday $75. Unlimited golf after 3pm costs $40 midweek and $45 at weekends. Junior and senior rates are booked by calling the pro shop. Carts cost $50 for 18 holes and $35 for nine, with clubs $20 and pull buggies $5. Neat golf attire is expected on the course; jeans, t-shirts and tracksuits are not permitted.
The driving range, opened in 2019, is open to the public daily from 7.30am until dusk, with buckets of 50 balls for $10. There are also warm-up nets and practice greens. PGA professional Jack Donaldson offers lessons, clinics and junior programs, and the pro shop stocks equipment and apparel.
