About the course
Peninsula Kingswood Country Golf Club sits on Skye Road, Frankston, at the southern end of Melbourne's Sandbelt and the northern edge of the Mornington Peninsula, about 35 minutes from the CBD. The club was formed in September 2013 when Peninsula Country Golf Club merged with Kingswood Golf Club, and its new clubhouse officially opened in May 2019.
Peninsula's roots go back to the Tower Golf House, which opened in December 1923. Foundation members took over the clubhouse on New Year's Day 1925 and the full 18 holes were first played on 25 September 1926. The clubhouse on the present site opened in July 1967, when the club set out to build two 18-hole courses. Kingswood began as the Dandenong Golf Club in 1904 and moved to Dingley in 1937.
The club has two championship courses, the North and the South, both par 72. From the back men's tees the North measures 6,385 metres and the South 6,425 metres, with several tee options on each. Course architect Mike Cocking's notes describe the North's opening par 4 of up to 335 metres, with bunkers pinching the landing area and an elevated green. A creek runs through many holes on the South, which was redesigned in 2015. The club will host the 2027 men's Australian Open.
This is a private members' club. International and interstate visitors may enquire about visitor tee times through the club's online form or the golf shop on +61 3 9789 2244, supplying a GolfLink number or letter of introduction where applicable. Dress regulations are strictly enforced. The club also has accommodation overlooking the South course, with guests able to use the pool, gym, tennis and bowls.
Practice facilities include a grass-tee driving range, two short-game greens, practice nets and six putting greens. The PK Academy offers lessons and club fitting seven days a week to members and non-members.
