About the course
Kaniva Golf Club is an 18-hole course set in natural bushland at Kaniva in the West Wimmera, and is affiliated with the Wimmera District Golf Association. Unlike the sand-green courses common in the district, it has grass greens.
From the men's blue tees the course plays to par 70, with 35 on each nine. The front nine has a single par 5, the 7th, and par 3s at the 4th and 8th. The back nine has par 5s at the 13th and the closing 18th, and three par 3s at the 11th, 14th and 17th.
The West Wimmera Shire visitor site lists a $10 green fee and gives the season as March to October; in 2026 the club's posted results ran from early February to late September. Saturday competitions include monthly medals and stableford cup rounds, and there is a Wednesday competition with a nine-hole option alongside the 18-hole field. The club's annual tournament in 2026 was held from 19 to 21 June, with a four-ball stableford on the Friday and men's and ladies' tournament rounds on the Saturday and Sunday, and the club also hosts a 27-hole ambrose on the district calendar.
Once a year the club runs a night golf event played with glowing balls.
