About the course

Lancelin Golf Club sits among the coastal dunes about 2 km south of the Lancelin townsite, roughly 130 km north of Perth. The course was developed in the late 1970s by Jock Borthwick, a retired golf professional, and the club is still run and maintained entirely by volunteers.

The 18-hole layout is a links course on natural dunes, with elevated tees and greens and ocean views. The reticulated nine holes have double tee boxes, so the course can be played as nine or 18 holes, and the club publishes separate men's and women's course layouts.

Visitors can usually turn up and play without booking, while larger groups can arrange a game day in advance. Green fees are $30 for 18 holes and $20 for nine, paid online, by card at the Vendi Pay unit at the clubhouse, or in cash at the honour box. Carts and clubs are not available for hire.

The course is closed to casual play during club competitions, but visitors are welcome to enter for a $10 fee: - Thursday: nine-hole Scroungers, be at the clubhouse by 2pm for a 2:30pm tee off (course closed 2:30 to 4:30pm). - Sunday: 18-hole competition, be at the clubhouse by 11:30am for a 12pm tee off (course closed 12 to 4:30pm).

Outside competition times, part of the course may be under reticulation.
