About the course

Guilderton Golf Club plays a nine-hole course in a natural bushland reserve close to the Moore River at Guilderton, in the Shire of Gingin. The golf club is affiliated with the Guilderton Country Club, which opened in February 1971 with a loan from the Shire and member debentures, and which also runs bowls and footgolf.

The course measures 4621 yards over 18 holes, so it is short, but the club says it still tests both new and experienced players. It has sand greens: players mark their ball, smooth the line to the hole with the rake left beside the green (two passes are allowed), then empty the cup of sand and tidy around the flag before leaving. Since October 2024 the club has followed a regeneration policy for the reserve and course, carried out largely by volunteers with help from sponsors and the Shire.

Guilderton is a public course and anyone can play. It is open seven days a week during daylight hours. The fee is $20 per adult for as many rounds as you can fit into the day, paid in the gazebo beside the 1st tee near the car park, either in an envelope in the honesty box (keep the receipt) or by card through a QR code. Score cards are kept in the gazebo. Hire clubs are not available.

Members have priority during club competitions, so visitors should watch for signs and let them play through: - Wednesday: Scroungers, a nine-hole mixed field with no handicap needed, 2pm tee time. - Saturday: an 18-hole mixed competition, 12pm tee time.

Local rules allow preferred lies on closely mown areas, and sealed roads mark out of bounds on holes 1 to 5 and 9.
