About the course
Pemberton Golf Club sits on Golf Links Road just outside Pemberton, in the Lower South West of Western Australia. The club was established in 1959 and began as a nine-hole course with two tees on each hole to make up an 18-hole round. It later acquired the block across the road and cut a back nine out of the bush, giving the full 18 holes played today.
It is a sand-green course. The front nine is open and more forgiving of a wayward drive, while the back nine is tighter. Boundary fences are in play on most holes, a few holes have trees standing in the fairway, and the prevailing wind affects play on several holes.
- 1st: a wide par 4 that drops through a valley before climbing to a green on the highest point of the course.
- 7th: the hardest of the par 3s, 164 metres with a significant rise to the green.
- 10th: the longest par 4, often played into the prevailing wind.
- 13th: the shortest par 3 at 108 metres, played over water to a green with a fence close on the left.
- 18th: a par 3 finish to a subtly sloping green.
The club's main event is the King Karri Kup on the June long weekend, which reached its 64th year in 2023, and GolfWA listed the King and Queen Karri Kup among its fixtures in November 2025.
Pemberton is a small, volunteer-run club. A new clubhouse, paid for through fundraising, donations, grants and a loan, opened in 2019, and volunteers later rebuilt the buggy and tractor shed; the club also sells the harvest from 80 avocado trees planted around the course. Visitor arrangements and green fees are not published online. The club can be contacted at info@pembertongolfclub.org.au or through its Facebook page.
