About the course

Greenbushes Golf Club is on the Greenbushes to Boyup Brook Road, just north of Stannifer Road, in the Blackwood River valley. The club began in 1959, when a group of locals set out to build a course on the old showgrounds outside town. They sold the jarrah on the site to raise 400 pounds, which paid for clearing the fairways and building nine sand greens. The layout has changed over the years, the clubhouse gained a new bar and a kitchen, and in the early 1980s the sand greens were converted to grass. Members and volunteers still maintain the course and facilities.

The nine-hole course winds among tall gums and local bush, with wildflowers in spring. The grass greens are kept in play all year. The fairways are natural grass, lush in winter and dry and firm in summer.

Visitors are welcome and the green fee is $20 per player. The course is open to green fee players on Mondays, Tuesday mornings, Wednesday afternoons, Thursday mornings, Fridays, Saturdays and Sunday mornings, and on competition days the club asks visitors to respect members' playing rights. Competitions are mixed. For the 2026 winter season:

  • Wednesday: 18 holes, 9am for a 9.30am start.
  • Thursday: scroungers, 1.30pm for a 2pm start.
  • Saturday: 18 holes, 12 noon for a 12.30pm start.

The summer social competition runs on Wednesdays at 9.30am and Saturdays at 2pm. The clubhouse is open only on competition days.
