About the course

Albert Golf Club is at Albert, a small village about an hour and a half's drive west of Dubbo. The village is known for the Rabbit Trap Hotel, which has a large rabbit trap mounted on its roof.

The 18-hole course is a par 70 of 5,772 metres. Its greens are black soil rather than grass, and the fairways have not been sown, so play is off natural ground. The layout is open, with few trees and little in the way of features, and most holes run straight, with the greens visible from the tee. The longest hole is the 532-metre 3rd, a par 5, and there are further par 5s of 480 metres at the 8th, 14th and 18th.

Visitors are welcome to play at any time, and social golf is available seven days a week. Competition days and green fees are not published online, so contact the club by email before visiting. The clubhouse opens on Sunday evenings from 5.30pm.

Meals and accommodation are available at the Rabbit Trap Hotel, and there are cabins across the road from the hotel.
