About the course

Trundle Golf Club is in the small Parkes Shire town of Trundle, about 55 kilometres north-west of Parkes on the Bogan Way. Golf in the town goes back to 1912, when the Wooleringa Golf Club was formed, and the course moved to its present site on Austral Street in the early 1920s. The club has lost two clubhouses, one to fire in 1964 and its replacement to a tornado in 1973. In 2004 it amalgamated with the Trundle Services & Citizens Club, which now runs it.

The course is an 18-hole, par 70 sand greens layout measuring 5,601 metres from the white tees, with a men's course rating of 66. Most holes are straight and there are no bunkers. The 10th, a 290-metre dogleg left around a dry hazard, is the main exception. Other holes worth noting:

  • 2nd: a 484-metre par 5.
  • 5th: the longest hole, a 494-metre par 5.
  • 13th and 14th: back-to-back par 3s of 140 and 134 metres.

Visitors are welcome all year, and social golf is available seven days a week except on tournament days. The visitor fee is $15 for 18 holes and $10 for nine. Competition rounds cost $20 and $15, and juniors pay $5. Carts are $15 a day. Visitors and juniors can play in the Wednesday women's and Saturday mixed competitions. For bookings and functions, call the Services Club.

The golf clubhouse has a bar, kitchen, dining area and a large function space. The Services Club in Forbes Street also has accommodation and a Chinese restaurant.
