About the course

Bega Country Club's course is on Tarraganda Lane on the edge of Bega, on the Far South Coast. The club is part of Club Bega, whose town clubhouse has the Clock Tower Bistro, and the country club building also has four squash courts and hosts functions with views over the course.

The 18-hole course is set among dairy paddocks and gum trees and is par 72, measuring 5,813 metres from the blue tees with a slope of 125. It is lightly bunkered with good greens. The front nine is mostly straight, with a creek crossing near some greens, while the back nine is tougher, with doglegs and undulating fairways. The 14th, a 442-metre par 5, is the club's highlight hole, and the par 3s are a strength, with four of the five needing a mid to long iron. In 2025 the tees were reorganised into long, middle and short courses.

Visitors are welcome to play socially or in competitions. The 2026 green fee is $32 for 18 holes and $25 for nine, or $28 for 18 with a Seniors Card. Carts cost $35 for 18 holes and $21 for nine, and pull buggies and clubs can be hired. Social rounds are booked through the bar or by phone, and competitions online. The weekly program includes:

  • Wednesday: women's 18-hole competition and a men's nine-hole afternoon event
  • Thursday: medley 18 holes
  • Saturday: men's and women's competitions

The pro shop stocks equipment and apparel, and group packages, including a pick-up and drop-off golf day, can be arranged.
