About the course

Pambula Merimbula Golf Club is on Arthur Kaine Drive at Merimbula, and is the only 27-hole course on the Sapphire Coast. It is surrounded by bushland, Merimbula Lake and the ocean beaches, kangaroos live on the course all year, and goannas can be seen crossing in summer. In 2026 the club marked 60 years of competition golf.

The three nines are played as three 18-hole combinations: holes 1 to 18, holes 10 to 27, and holes 1 to 9 with 19 to 27.

  • 1st: a 260-metre dogleg-left par 4, the shortest par 4 on the course, with a large tree guarding the corner and a two-tiered green.
  • 2nd: a par 4 of more than 400 metres with out of bounds all along the right, rated the toughest par 4.
  • 18th: a 403-metre par 4 that is uphill for its last 300 metres, to a green sloping towards the lake.
  • 27th: a long uphill par 3 played over a small lake.

The course is open to the public every day, and when a competition is on, visitors can start on the free nine and follow the field. Visitor green fees are $70 for 18 holes and $45 for nine, a seven-day pass is $200, and adding a competition takes the price to $80 for 18 and $50 for nine. Juniors pay $32 and $24. Visitor carts, with GPS, are $64 for 18 holes and $41 for nine. Tee times can be booked online up to seven days ahead after registering as a public member, and competition rounds through the pro shop on 02 6495 6280. No alcohol may be brought in.

The pro shop, run by AAA professional Glenn Warne, sells and hires equipment, gives lessons and clinics by appointment and has a repair workshop. The club has no restaurant or gaming room. Instead, The 28th Cafe/Bar beside the 10th tee serves beer, wine, coffee and light food such as focaccias, pies and cakes, with outdoor seating over the course.
