About the course

Bombala Golf Club is on Gunningrah Road, inside the town boundary of Bombala on the southern Monaro, about an hour's drive from Cooma and two and a half hours from Canberra. The club does not have its own website and posts news on a Facebook page.

The 18-hole course has sand greens, and Golf NSW describes it as the last 18-hole sand-green course in the ACT Monaro District. The layout is undulating with views over the surrounding farmland, and an intermittent waterway divides the course, with dams and ponds in play. From the white tees it measures 5,737 metres and is par 71, with a scratch rating of 69 and slope of 110. The women's card is par 74 over 5,110 metres from the red tees, rated 74 with a slope of 114. Holes to note:

  • 2nd: 476 metres, par 5, the longest hole on the card.
  • 7th: a 215 metre par 3.
  • 17th: 115 metres, par 3, rated the toughest hole, played through a stand of pine trees to a green with a dam in front of it.

In late September 2026 the club hosted the ACT-Monaro District Sand Green Championship.

Golf NSW lists social golf seven days a week, with women's competitions on Wednesday and medley competitions on Saturday and Sunday. Green fees are not published online, so phone the club on 02 6458 3306 before playing.
