About the course
Coolamatong Snowy Mountains Country Club's course is on Kosciuszko Road about 2 km west of Berridale, between Cooma and Jindabyne. The club began as the Berridale Golf Club after a public meeting in September 1952, built its course on donated grazing land, and held its first competition on 18 April 1953. The first nine holes were laid out by a golf professional from Goulburn, the course grew to 18 holes in April 1962, and members converted the sand greens to grass between 1991 and 1996. The club also runs the Town Club in the centre of Berridale.
The course is fairly flat and made up of two distinct nines, with demanding par 5s and several long par 4s. It is par 71 for men at about 5,800 metres and par 72 for women at about 5,480 metres. Recycled grey water from Berridale has been used to water the course since 2012, and volunteers carry out much of the upkeep.
The course is open seven days to social players. A round costs $35 for adults and $10 for juniors, paid at the clubhouse, through the Vendi machine or into the honesty box when the clubhouse is closed. Members' open competitions are held on Wednesday and Sunday mornings, when social play starts after 1pm, and visitors with a GA handicap can enter. Motorised carts cost $45 and are only available while the clubhouse is open.
The clubhouse opens daily for drinks on the deck, added in 2025, snacks, accessories and club and buggy hire. Coaching is offered with an indoor golf simulator, and the Town Club has a restaurant from Wednesday to Saturday evenings.
Green fees
$35 per round, juniors $10; honesty box or Vendi machine when the clubhouse is closed. Motorised carts $45. Social golf only after 1pm on Wednesday and Sunday.
