About the course
Branxton Golf Club sits at 25 Cessnock Road, Branxton, a few hundred metres off the New England Highway. The club, run as a co-operative, was first established in 1921. Its nine holes, which the club calls "The Ultimate Nine", have been played by professionals including Billy Dunk, Peter Lonard and Nathan Green, and the course hosted an LPGA pro-am for several years, drawing players such as Laura Davies.
The course has two par 5s, four par 4s and three par 3s. Alternate tees on most holes turn it into an 18-hole round of 5,547 metres at par 70, and separate tees are provided for women's competition. A small team of volunteers maintains the course, and players must carry a sand bucket to repair divots.
Visitors are welcome. The non-member social fee is $36 for 18 holes and $28 for nine, and juniors pay $15. Non-members can hire a cart for $40 (18 holes) or $25 (nine), clubs with a pull buggy for $30 or $20, or a buggy alone for $5. The club asks players to phone the pro shop on (02) 4938 1421 to book, particularly at weekends when social golf is busy. The course opens from 7am daily. Wednesday twilight golf, a nine-hole stableford with tee times between 2.30pm and 4.30pm, started on 7 October 2026.
The pro shop is run by PGA teaching professional Marcus Ryter, who took it over in 2011 and offers lessons, junior and adult clinics, and a free club fitting and swing appraisal. The clubhouse sits on high ground beside the 9th and 18th green, with a bar, TAB and Keno. Its restaurant serves Thai and Australian dishes for lunch (12pm to 2pm) and dinner (5pm to 8.30pm) from Wednesday to Sunday, and the auditorium holds up to 200 people for functions.

Non-member social fees (same all week). Non-member cart $40 (18) and $25 (9). Club and buggy hire available. Phone bookings recommended, especially on weekends. Junior (non-member social) $15.
