About the course

The Vintage Golf Club is at Château Élan on Vintage Drive, Pokolbin, in the Hunter Valley wine country. The 18-hole championship course was designed by Greg Norman and runs through bushland, vineyards and rolling country. It was ranked 29th in Golf Australia's 2025 list of the top 100 public-access courses, and it hosts the 2026 Ford NSW Open.

The course is par 71 and 6,242 metres on the figures given on the club's play and book page. It is a strategic layout with wide fairways, plenty of bunkering and undulating greens, and a mix of short par 4s, par 3s and par 5s. On Monday 16 November 2026, after the Open, the club is running a Back Tee Challenge with the course set up as it was for the final round.

The course is open to day visitors, Château Élan guests and members seven days a week. Green fees include a cart: $150 for 18 holes and $105 for nine from Monday to Thursday, and $180 and $131 on Fridays, weekends and public holidays. Tee times start at 7am (6:30am depending on daylight saving), with the last listed time at 1:30pm. Book online or through the golf shop; resort guests and voucher holders must book through the shop. A credit card secures the booking and cancellation charges apply inside 48 hours. Booking ahead is recommended for weekends, public holidays and event periods. Denim is not allowed, a collared shirt and tailored pants are expected, and alcohol must be bought on site.

Hire clubs cost $80 or $100 for 18 holes depending on the set. The practice area has a serviced driving range, putting green and short-game area, with range balls for non-members at $12 a small bucket and $25 a large one. Director of Instruction Richard Mercer and PGA professionals give lessons, competitions are held seven days a week for eligible players, and Legends Restaurant and Spike Bar are beside the course.
