About the course

Bulahdelah Golf Club is a community-owned, volunteer-run club just north of Bulahdelah, about an hour's drive north of Newcastle and close to the Myall Lakes on the Mid North Coast.

The course has nine holes with dual tees on most, so a full round is played as 18 holes: par 70 over 5,760 metres from the blue tees. The club gives slope ratings of 127 for men and 130 for women. Trees and out of bounds come into play on many holes, there are water hazards, and kangaroos and wallabies are often on the course. It is easy to walk and playable in most conditions, although carts can be restricted after rain, so the club suggests phoning ahead to check.

Social golf costs $20 a day for unlimited play, from sunrise to sunset. On Saturdays social play starts after 1pm, and competition players have priority on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Fees can be paid online or in an envelope at the first tee, and tee times and carts are booked by phone. Motorised carts cost $25 for nine holes and $40 for 18 for non-members, pull buggies $5 and hire clubs $7 a day. Weekly competitions:

Wednesday: ladies, 9am ($25 for non-members).
Thursday: veterans, 8.30am ($25).
Saturday: men and women, roll-up start ($30 for non-members), with a stroke monthly mug on the last Saturday.

Visitors staying a few weeks can take a $50 monthly membership. The clubhouse has a bar and lounge, Keno, poker machines, a pool table and a golf simulator, and the Greenway Bistro serves Chinese and Australian dishes from Tuesday to Sunday. The clubhouse is closed on Mondays. A courtesy bus runs on Thursday and Friday evenings, and RV travellers can stay overnight free in the north car park.
