About the course

Forster Tuncurry Golf Club runs two 18-hole courses on the Barrington Coast of the Mid North Coast, about three hours' drive north of Sydney, in towns that sit between Wallis Lake and the Pacific Ocean. The two courses offer quite different golf.

The Forster course on Strand Street sits beside One Mile Beach, with holes 1 to 6 on the beach side of the clubhouse. It is short, at 4,868 metres and par 66 for men and 68 for women, with generous fairways, but small greens, sea breezes, bunkers and water keep it testing.

The Tuncurry course was designed by Kel Nagle and Mike Cooper in 1984. It is a par 72 of 6,203 metres from the men's white tees, a links-style layout cut through coastal bushland with couch fairways and fairly flat greens. Its sand base keeps it playable after rain, and a master plan by Craig Parry has brought vegetation work and design changes. The club says it usually takes a few rounds to learn and rewards straight driving. The Australian Golf Heritage Society museum is on site.

Visitors with a handicap and membership of another club can join competitions. Social tee times at Forster are generally after 12.30pm, and all day on Monday and Sunday; Tuncurry is open all day on Monday and Sunday and after the morning competitions on other days. From 1 March 2026, visitor social fees are $53 for 18 holes and $36 for nine or twilight at Forster, and $68 and $46 at Tuncurry, with carts $54 for 18 holes. Book online or through the golf shops on 02 6554 6799. Visitors cannot bring their own carts without approval, and dress regulations apply.

Both courses have golf shops with PGA professionals offering lessons, clinics, fitting and repairs, and Tuncurry has a driving range and putting green. Buko's Bistro serves Thai and Australian dishes and seafood for lunch and dinner seven days, alongside Sinny's Café, and a courtesy bus runs every half hour from 4.30pm.
