About the course

Cobar Bowling & Golf Club has been a club and sporting venue for the town of Cobar, about 700 kilometres west of Sydney, for more than 70 years. The clubhouse is in the centre of town, near the motels, and has had a renovation and refit costing more than $3.5 million. The golf club is affiliated with Golf NSW and holds the 2018 NSW Sand Green title.

The 18-hole course pairs sand greens with grass fairways, a combination found at only a few courses in the state. In 2025 Cobar was the third stop in Golf NSW's first NSW Outback Series. The course is par 71 for men and par 72 for women, and measures 5,804 metres from the white tees.

The course is available every day except Christmas Day and visitors are welcome. Visitor green fees are not published online; local players pay an annual golf affiliation and a course tag, and members can rent golf sheds for their carts. Men's and women's competitions are played midweek and at weekends under a published 2026 program for each, and the club hosts the annual Cobar Ladies Open.

The club also has two bowling greens, a restaurant serving Chinese, Australian and Thai dinners seven days a week, function and conference rooms, and accommodation. A courtesy bus runs seven days, from 4.30pm on weekdays and 2.30pm at weekends and on public holidays, and travellers in caravans can reach it on UHF channel 10.
