About the course

Coraki Golf Club is in the Richmond River Valley village of Coraki, about 20 minutes from Lismore, and marks its centenary in 2026, having been established in 1926. The first course was cut from tea-tree scrub around the old Coraki Showground, a village common where locals grazed stock, and its sand greens were fenced to keep cattle off. After the showground closed in 1958, volunteers cleared and levelled the ground and planted the greens with Queensland blue couch. The clubhouse began as a tent, then became a storm-damaged parish hall bought for 20 pounds in 1933, and the club bought the course from the Lands Department in 1976.

The course has nine holes with 18 tees, so the second nine plays from different tee positions, over about 6,045 metres in total. The terrain is flat, with gently rolling fairways lined with slash pine, bottlebrush and eucalypts. The longest hole is the par-5 4th at 492 metres from the white tees, and a dam guarding the par-3 6th and 15th is a penalty area.

Visitors are welcome seven days a week for social golf. Thursday mornings are kept for the veterans' competition and Saturday is a members' day, with social play from 2pm on both days. Rounds are booked by phoning the clubhouse, and green fees are paid at the clubhouse, by QR code through Greenfees.com.au or into an honour box. Fees from 1 October 2026 are $30 for 18 holes and $20 for nine, with motorised carts $40 and $25. Visitors with a handicap can enter competitions for $30.

The licensed, air-conditioned clubhouse opens seven days and has a bistro on Friday nights, poker machines, Wednesday bingo and fortnightly Friday raffles.
