About the course
Woodburn-Evans Head Golf Club is on Golf Links Road at Woodburn and serves both Woodburn and the coastal town of Evans Head.
The course measures 5,544 metres and has 11 greens with 18 separate tees, playing to par 70 for men and 71 for women. It is a flat, easy-walking, tree-lined layout with plenty of greenside bunkers and a dam waiting for wayward shots. Most greens are Tifgreen 328 and the rest blue couch. There are several long par 5s, the longest 506 metres for men and 455 metres for women. Koalas and wallabies are regularly seen on the course.
Visitors with a Golf Australia handicap can play in the weekly competitions:
- Tuesday: 18-hole single stableford, all day
- Wednesday: women's competition
- Thursday: veterans (55 and over), shotgun start
- Friday: 12-hole stableford, all day
- Saturday: men's and women's competition
- Sunday: 12-hole shotgun start at 9am
Social play is available all day on Sunday and Monday, after the competitions on other weekdays, and from about 2.30pm on Saturday. Tee times are booked by phoning the club. For the 2025-26 membership year, social visitors pay $35 for 18 holes and $25 for nine, and a handicapped visitor in a competition pays $18. Non-member cart hire is $35 for 18 holes and $20 for nine, push buggies are $6 and hire clubs with a buggy $12. Deals include nine holes for $15 after 3pm on weekdays, and two players with a shared cart for $80 for 18 holes on Sundays and Mondays.
The club runs an annual three-day Golf Classic, held from 30 January to 1 February in 2026, and hosts social days for groups. The course is open from 7am to 5.30pm, from 6am on Saturdays.
