About the course

Cumberland Country Golf Club is at Greystanes in Western Sydney, less than 6.5 kilometres from the Parramatta CBD and close to the M4 Motorway. Golf on the site predates the club: a privately owned nine-hole course called Parramatta Golf Links was operating in 1935. Cumberland Country Club was formed on 24 September 1937, quickly extended the course to 18 holes and was officially opened in June 1938. The club bought the land outright in 1947, planted trees and grassed fairways through the 1950s, and later secured its own water by piping runoff from a nearby catchment, with a dam on the 12th converted to fresh water storage in 2015.

The course is set in woodland of tallowwoods and forest red gums. A masterplan begun in 2017 has brought a redesign and realignment of the course alongside a new clubhouse and residential development, with new greens, tees, bunkers and playing corridors. The new 18-hole layout officially opened on 4 July 2026, and further work, including extra fairway drainage and a new tee on the 12th, is continuing.

Cumberland is open to the public. Social green fees are $55 for 18 holes and $45 for nine, walking, every day, and carts cost $50 for 18 holes or $35 for nine. Social tee times are generally available on Monday and Tuesday after the competition, Wednesday after 3.30pm, Thursday and Friday after 10am, and weekends after 3.30pm; book online or call the golf office, and check with the office before arriving. Visitors can also enter open competitions on most days, including open medleys on Monday, Thursday and Friday, a women's open on Tuesday and a men's open on Wednesday, for a $42.50 competition fee.

The clubhouse has bar areas, practice facilities and free parking, and Harmony at Cumberland serves Chinese cuisine for lunch Tuesday to Sunday and dinner Wednesday to Sunday. Coaching, indoor golf and fitting are run by Banners Golf Academy at the club.
