About the course

Oatlands Golf Club is a private, member-owned club at Oatlands in Sydney. In 1926 the Oatlands estate was bought by A. C. Berk and his son-in-law Victor Audette, who had Rupert Black, formerly draughtsman to Dr Alister MacKenzie, lay out a course among the blackbutt trees. Governor Sir Philip Game officially opened the course on 4 July 1931, and all 18 holes were in play the following year. Its first professional, Bill Bolger, won the 1934 Australian Open. The Army occupied the course from 1942 to 1947, and members bought it in 1958. Oatlands hosted the 1963 Australian PGA Championship and has staged the NSW Women's Open several times.

The course is a par 70. Vineyard Creek runs beside the 13th and 15th fairways, and a dam on it, finished in 1968 and enlarged in 2000, allows the whole course to be watered. Course architect Jim Wilcher oversaw the rebuilding of the fairway bunkers and conversion of the tees to couch by 2009.

Non-members can play through the regular Tiger Tee Challenge open days, open to members of affiliated clubs with a Golflink handicap and played from the back tees. The guest green fee is $95 plus a $17 competition fee, booked through the professional shop on (02) 9630 4444 or online. Members of the club's reciprocal clubs who live more than 100 kilometres away also have playing rights. On the course, shirts must be collared and tucked in, golf shoes without metal spikes are required, and denim is not allowed.

A redevelopment with Levande is building a retirement community and a new clubhouse, expected to be finished in early 2028. All 18 holes remain in play and a temporary clubhouse is in use; during construction the car park is entered from 126 Bettington Road. The pro shop opens 6am to 6pm daily and offers lessons, Trackman club fitting and repairs.
