About the course

Goulburn Golf Club opened its first course in August 1898 and moved to its present site at Eastgrove, on land rented from Sydney University, in 1903 after a flood forced it off an earlier site. The clubhouse dates from 1912. The original nine holes had sand greens, and in 1925 the course was extended to 18 holes with grass greens to a design by W. McKenzie. Former members include two Australian Open winners and state and national amateur champions, and it held its 127th annual general meeting in 2025.

The course sits in central Goulburn, about an hour north of Canberra and two hours south of Sydney. It is a par 71 of 5,793 metres from the blue tees, with long par 5s, solid par 4s and tricky par 3s.

  • 3rd: a 495-metre par 5.
  • 12th: the longest hole, a 497-metre par 5.
  • 17th: the longest par 3 at 198 metres.
  • 18th: a 425-metre par 4 and the hardest hole on the card.

The course is open to the public seven days. Green fees are $50 for 18 holes and $30 for nine, with a nine-hole twilight rate of $25, and carts cost $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine. Tee times can be booked online or through the pro shop. Competitions are held on Thursdays.

Facilities include a driving range, practice areas and a pro shop. The clubhouse has a bar, TAB, gaming room and an upstairs bistro overlooking the fairways, and is open seven days.
