About the course

Junee Golf Club traces its start to 1921, when the course was little more than a grazing paddock with sand greens and a tin shed for a clubhouse. It became a formal club in 1923 and celebrated its centenary in 2023. Grass greens replaced the sand in 1973, and the club says it is the only grass-green course within 50 kilometres of Wagga Wagga. Volunteers run the club and look after the course.

The 18-hole course plays to par 72 over undulating ground, with watered fairways, a creek that is usually dry winding through many of the holes, and out of bounds on several holes. The men's white tees measure 5,943 metres (rating 72, slope 124), and the red tees 5,134 metres. In competitions men may play from either the white or red tees but must stay on the same tees for the whole round.

Because Junee is a small town, visitors can usually just turn up and play, although the club notes that booking may be essential at times. Social and visiting players pay $30 for 18 holes and $20 for nine, with competition entry charged separately. Visitor cart hire is $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine when carts are available, and players can bring their own cart at no charge. Competition results are posted on the club's Facebook page.
