About the course
Kareela Golf Club is a public golf club at Bates Drive, Kareela, in Sydney's Sutherland Shire, and welcomes social players, groups and juniors as well as members. The clubhouse trades as Sporties @ Kareela Golf.
The 18-hole course is a short layout. According to the club's 2025 fixture book, the men's blue course plays to par 65 with eight par 3s, nine par 4s and a single par 5, and the women's red course plays to par 66 with seven par 3s, ten par 4s and one par 5.
Social play is available all day on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, after midday on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and on Sundays before 7.30am and after 11.30am. Weekday green fees are $43 for 18 holes and $28.50 for nine; weekends are $44 for 18 holes, and twilight golf after 2pm costs $25 on weekdays and $30 on weekends. Weekend rates apply on public holidays, and the club notes that online prices are indicative, with payment made at the pro shop on arrival. Tee times are booked online after registering as a public player, and groups of 12 or more should contact the pro shop. The club has 20 motorised carts ($53 for 18 holes, $32 for nine), which must be booked ahead, and hirers need to show a driver licence. Competitions run on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and visitors from other clubs can enter for $50, subject to booking restrictions.
Head Professional Jason King, a former Australian and Asian Tour player, offers private, group, short-game and on-course lessons seven days a week. Putting and chipping greens are available for practice, and the pro shop opens from 6am to 6pm daily.
