About the course
Lakeside Golf Club Camden is at Gledswood Hills in Sydney's south-west, now part of Wests Group Macarthur. The original course was laid out in the early 1990s by Peter Thomson in a British links style, with undulating fairways and pot bunkers. Ownership of the course and clubhouse later passed to the Wests Group, and a redevelopment of the surrounding precinct for housing brought major changes: four new holes were built on land once kept as a buffer around the heritage Gledswood homestead, holes 9, 10 and 12 to 17 were remodelled, and every green was rebuilt over about five years. In 2019 Lakeside received the Metropolitan Club of the Year award.
The rebuilt championship course measures 6488 metres and par 72 from the back tees, and 5357 metres and par 72 from the women's tees. Large, sweeping greens set among rolling ground, bunkers cut into upslopes and couch fairways are its main features, and the club says it has kept the original links feel. The tee options include five "tiger tees" for stronger players.
Lakeside is a public course open every day. Tee times are booked through the online public timesheet, which in October 2026 listed $65 for 18 holes and $35 for nine on weekdays, and $90 and $55 on weekends. The golf shop opens from 6am daily and can advise on course conditions.
The golf shop stocks equipment and apparel, and the club runs a coaching academy with junior, senior, women's and general programs. The Halfway Cafe serves food and drinks from a walk-up window or to order from a cart. In the clubhouse, Bunkers Bistro serves its main menu from 11.30am to 9pm, and the licensed club opens from 10am daily. Lakeside Guest House, a five-bedroom home overlooking the course, is available for stays.
