About the course

Mollymook Golf Club has two courses on the South Coast: the 18-hole Hilltop course at Clifford Close and the nine-hole Beachside course on Golf Avenue. Golf here goes back to the early 1900s, when a short course called Mollymoke Links was played on private land near Collers Beach, with sand greens and cattle keeping the grass down. The club itself was formed in 1952. By the 1960s it had bought the Beachside land, built a nine-hole course and replaced its sand greens with grass, and in the 1970s it built the Hilltop course and clubhouse, which dates from a 1977 design.

Hilltop runs through bushland within earshot of Mollymook Beach. It measures 6,225 metres from the championship tees, with tree-lined fairways, large and undulating greens, creeks and dams, and moderate bunkering. The club is renovating the course and opened a new 13th hole in April 2026. Beachside is a nine-hole par 27 of about 1,200 metres from the men's tees, set on the southern point of Mollymook Beach around the Collers Beach inlet.

Both courses are open to the public seven days, and bookings are essential at Hilltop, by phone on (02) 4455 2055 or online. Hilltop visitor fees on the October 2025 rate card are $79 for 18 holes and $45 for nine on weekdays, and $89 and $49 on weekends. Carts are $50 for 18 and $36 for nine, hire clubs $50 and $35, and a pull trolley $8. Competitions at Hilltop:

  • Saturday: men's and ladies

The Hilltop pro shop opens from 6am daily, and the Hilltop bar from 10am, with a snack bar from Tuesday to Saturday. Practice facilities include a 200-metre practice fairway with grass and artificial tees and a practice bunker, three practice nets and a putting green. Coaching comes from a team of PGA professionals. At Beachside, the Beachside Bistro serves lunch from noon to 2pm daily and dinner from 5.30pm.
