About the course
The Country Club St Georges Basin is at Paradise Beach Road, Sanctuary Point, and is one of two courses run by The Country Club, the other being at Vincentia. One membership covers both, and each course has its own pro shop and golf club. The club itself opens from 9:30am to 11pm, seven days.
The 18-hole course plays to par 72 but is compact, at about 5,000 metres from the men's tees, with five par 5s and five par 3s. Several par 4s are under 290 metres, and the par 5s range from 335 to 475 metres.
- 1st: a 415-metre par 5 that lets players open their shoulders from the start.
- 8th: the longest par 3, at 202 metres.
- 10th: the shortest hole, a 106-metre par 3.
- 13th: stroke index 2, a 341-metre par 4.
Visitors pay $39 for 18 holes and $29 for nine, both including a $6.50 venue voucher, and junior visitors pay $16 for nine or 18 holes. Bookings for individuals and groups are made with the pro shop on (02) 4442 9036 or by email at basinproshop@gmail.com. Cart hire for visitors is $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine. Members' competitions run from Tuesday to Saturday.
The pro shop stocks buggies, clubs, shoes and accessories. The clubhouse has dining, bars and a weekly entertainment program.
