About the course
The Country Club Vincentia is on Murray Street, Vincentia, in the hills above Jervis Bay, and is one of two courses run by The Country Club, alongside St Georges Basin. One membership covers both. The Vincentia club is currently running golf operations only: the course is open but the clubhouse is closed, and service is through the pro shop at the rear of the club.
The 18-hole course plays to par 72. Holes 14 to 18 revisit the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 8th from different tees, and holes 10 to 13 pass through environmentally sensitive areas declared by Shoalhaven City Council, which are no-play zones where balls cannot be searched for.
- 5th: a 152-metre par 3 from an elevated tee over a drain and lake to a small, two-tier green.
- 8th: rated the hardest hole, a 357-metre par 4 uphill all the way, with out of bounds left and a drain right.
- 12th: the signature par 3, 151 metres with views across the bay and out of bounds along the right.
- 18th: the 8th replayed as a 426-metre par 5, with the men's tee 60 metres further back and two dams to carry.
Visitors pay $39 for 18 holes and $29 for nine, both including a $6.50 venue voucher, and junior visitors pay $16. The club has 10 electric carts for hire seven days, at $40 for 18 holes and $30 for nine; hirers must be over 18 with a driver's licence. Carts and rounds can be booked through the golf shop on (02) 4441 5621. Members' competitions run from Tuesday to Saturday.
For social play the dress code asks for neat attire and shoes with socks, with no singlets or thongs. Competition players need a collared shirt, and shorts must have a belt.
