About the course
Sefton Golf Course is an 18-hole par 3 course at 160 Rose Street, Sefton, in Sydney's south-west, owned and operated by the City of Canterbury Bankstown. The council describes it as one of very few 18-hole par 3 courses in Sydney, aimed at beginners, families and golfers working on their short game, and an 18-hole round usually takes about three hours. The site also has a disc golf course. Sefton station is 1.8 km away, and there is street and off-street parking.
Men play from the white markers and women from the red, with disc golfers on the blue.
The course is open to the public from 6am to 6pm, and every player checks in at the pro shop before teeing off. Bookings are recommended at weekends, on public holidays and at other busy times, either online after registering as a public member or by calling the clubhouse. Weekday fees are $32 for 18 holes and $24.50 for nine, and weekend fees are $37.50 and $31. Concession and junior (under 18) rounds cost $19 on weekdays and $23.50 at weekends, children up to 14 play free with a paying adult, and twilight rounds cost $19 after 3pm in daylight saving or after 1pm in winter. Carts cost $32 for nine holes and $48 for 18, weather permitting, and only fully licensed drivers may hire them. Buggies cost $9, hire clubs $13.50, and a buggy and clubs package $19.50. Each player needs their own bag and clubs, groups are limited to four, and the dress code requires shirts with sleeves and flat-soled enclosed shoes.
The clubhouse has a shop selling golf essentials and a kiosk for snacks and drinks. Visiting golf professionals can use the course for lessons and clinics, and group bookings and golf days can be arranged.
