About the course
Bankstown Golf Club was established in 1928 and sits in Milperra in Sydney's south-west, beside the M5 and about 30 minutes from both the Sydney and Parramatta CBDs. Some holes run beside the Georges River, while others pass through stands of eucalypts and native bush. Since 2023 the club has been part of the Bankstown Sports Group.
The championship course is par 71 and 6,068 metres from the black tees for men, with a course record of 66; women play a 5,236-metre par 72. The front nine has two par 3s and two par 5s, and the back nine three par 3s and two par 5s. Tree-lined fairways, fairway bunkers and a number of dams and water hazards narrow the landing areas, and many greens are elevated or sloping.
- 2nd: a 167-metre par 3 over water, with bunkers either side and out of bounds right.
- 5th: a 504-metre par 5 that doglegs right to a large, raised green.
- 8th: a 340-metre par 4 where the approach crosses dams to a green ringed by bunkers and mounds.
- 16th: a 187-metre par 3 to a raised green between bunkers.
Visitors are welcome. Registering as a public member online is free and lets golfers book tee times on the club's booking system. Green fees are $60 for 18 holes and $38 for nine on weekdays, and $77 and $44 on weekends, with two-players-plus-cart deals also offered. Social times are generally available every day around competitions, and social golf groups are taken on Sunday afternoons. Motorised carts, pull buggies and hire clubs are available. A dress code applies.
A new practice and warm-up area with a larger putting green, chipping and bunker practice areas and a new 18th green is being built in stages, with completion targeted for late 2026 to early 2027. Lessons are available with the head professional. The Italian Bistro serves lunch and dinner from Tuesday to Sunday.
