About the course

The Rock Golf Club plays at the foot of Rock Hill, close to The Rock Nature Reserve. The town sits just off the Olympic Highway about 25 km south of Wagga Wagga and is the eastern entry point to Lockhart Shire. The club was formed in April 1914, was a foundation member of the Riverina Golf Association in 1925, and officially opened its course on 9 May 1936.

The course has 18 holes and sand greens, and plays to par 70 for both men and women. From the blue and white tees it measures 5,498 metres, and from the red tees 5,073 metres.

  • 8th: a 132-metre par 3 where the tee shot has to carry a stand of pine trees.
  • 14th: a 462-metre par 5, the longest hole on the card.

Visitors can play social golf on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The green fee listed by the club is $6, and golf carts can be hired. Competition days are:

  • Sunday: open competition
  • Wednesday: ladies
  • Friday: veterans

The club runs an annual 27-hole tournament, The Rock Tournament, and hosts charity days such as a four-person Ambrose for Meals on Wheels. A club website is not published online; the club's details are listed in the Golf NSW directory and it has a Facebook page.
