About the course

Yenda Golf Club sits just outside the village of Yenda, about 15 kilometres from Griffith a small farming town best known as the home of Casella Wines. The course is looked after by a team of local volunteers. The entrance is off Twigg Road: turn left about 150 metres past the Wade Park entrance.

The layout is unusual: 18 holes are played off 12 grass greens, so the water holes come round twice. It plays to par 72 for men and women, at 5,831 metres from the blue tees and 5,237 metres from the red tees, with kikuyu fairways, bent grass greens, and water and trees to steer around. Hole-by-hole distances are not published online; the club points players to the Golf Pad and Swing U apps for GPS yardages and a course map.

Visitors are welcome and social golf is available seven days a week. Green fees are not published online, and group bookings are made by contacting the club. The weekly program includes:

Monthly Medal: stroke play on the first Sunday of the month.
Guzzlers Mug: stableford on the second Sunday of the month.
Tuesday Vets: a morning single stableford for players over 55.
Chicken Run: a nine-hole event that can be played any day of the week, open to players without an official handicap, who are given one by the club.

Sunday tee-off is 7.30am during daylight saving and 8am in winter. Full members can enter the major events such as the Monthly Medal and Club Championships, while social members can play the weekly events.

Self-service golf carts are available for casual hire at the front of the clubhouse, and regular players can enquire about long-term storage in the cart shed. The clubhouse has a kitchen and seating, and barbecue facilities can be arranged.
