About the course
Blue Lake Golf Club is on Grant Avenue in Mount Gambier, next to the Valley Lakes and a short distance from the Blue Lake. The club was established in 1984 and started as a nine-hole course before growing to 18 holes. The land is community land owned by the City of Mount Gambier. For several decades the Blue Lake Public Golf Links was run by the Queen Elizabeth Park Trust; in 2019 the council offered the club a lease over the whole course and its buildings, and in June 2026 it endorsed a staged lease of up to 20 years after a consultation that drew 77 submissions. The club says about 22,000 people use its facilities each year.
The course is open to the public. Current fees are $43 for 18 holes and $28 for nine, with a reciprocal rate of $24. Golf carts are $45 for 18 holes and $28 for nine, hire clubs $20 or $15, and push carts $6. On Thursdays $28 buys unlimited golf, or $52 with lunch. Public hours are generally 6.30am until dark, but Saturday public play starts at 12.30pm and Wednesday mornings have restricted times around competitions. Book on (08) 8725 6198.
Non-members can enter these 9-hole open competitions: - Wednesday: $31 entry. - Thursday and Friday: $29 entry.
Members-only 18-hole events run on Tuesday, Wednesday (ladies), Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
The driving range opened in 2019 ($14 a bucket, hire clubs available), and an 18-hole mini putt putt with models of local landmarks such as Centenary Tower opened in December 2022. The Lakes Caddy Shack pro shop sells equipment and handles club and cart hire. The Blue Lake Bar & Bistro serves lunch Wednesday to Sunday and dinner Wednesday to Saturday, and Huddy's Sports Bar opens daily from 10am.
