About the course
Portland Golf Club is one of the Discovery Coast courses that the Portland Tourist Association lists as open to the public. The 18-hole course is easy walking, with views over the Southern Ocean. The course is fully irrigated, with grass greens and well-kept fairways, and is playable all year.
Visitors are welcome and should phone the club for tee times, as no online booking is listed. In summer the club runs twilight competitions on Wednesday and Friday evenings. Its calendar has included spring and seniors' tournaments in October, a Christmas special in December, the South West Classic and an Australia Day ambrose in January, the ladies' Seaside Cup in February and an autumn tournament in March, plus Sunday fun days open to everyone. The clubhouse and pro shop have opened from 8am Monday to Friday, closing at 5pm Monday to Thursday and 6pm on Friday, and from 10am on Saturday.
