About the course
Penneshaw Golf Club is on The Lane in Penneshaw, the Dudley Peninsula town on Kangaroo Island where the ferry from Cape Jervis arrives; Cape Jervis is about 1.5 hours' drive from Adelaide. The club is affiliated with Golf SA.
The course is an 18-hole layout in the town's recreation zone, close to the town centre beside the football oval and the netball courts, and its open ground adds to the outlook from the town's higher streets. Like the town's other sporting grounds, it is looked after by its club at little cost to the council. In the council's 2019 Penneshaw structure plan, residents asked that the recreation zone and golf course precinct be kept as open space, and the plan flags future master planning of the oval and golf course areas and the possibility of tourist accommodation in the golf precinct.
